Something to Ponder

Exhaust The Little Moment.
Soon It Dies.

And Be It Gash Or Gold
It Will Not Come

Again In This Identical
Disguise.

Ok Kev... what does it mean?

The poem could be interpreted any number of different ways.

It could be: Live in the Here and Now.
It could be: You only live once.
It could be: Stop and smell the roses.
It could be: Live life to the fullest.

What do you think it means?

I see that in the first 2 lines, but I don't understand the last 4.

There was a famous anceint Greek philosopher(I forgot his name) who said "It is impossible to step into the same river twice."

What he meant by this was, the river water flowed and each time he stepped into the river, he stepped into different water than the last time.

That is what the last lines of the poem mean to me. It seems to be saying that you cannot experience the exact same moment twice. Each moment is unique.

The poem, to me, means "live every moment to its fullest potential, because there will never be a moment like this again." (or something like that)
