General Updates

-I have been trying to be a little healthier over the last month or so, and I think it's going well. I've been eating a lot more fruits and vegetables, and I workout three times a week. I feel pretty good.

-Speaking of working out, I'm running three simultaneous season modes for the wii. One in soccer, one in baseball, and one in football. I don't think I could handle it if hockey and basketball came out anytime soon.

-Tigers: Still sucking. I saw a stat on SportsCenter the other day. The Indians have gone 16-19 since the All-Star break, and have gained 2 1/2 games on the Tigers. That is pathetic.

-David Beckham is actually playing, and he is doing really well.

He truly is one of the greats, and I am happy to see him doing well. But does he make non-soccer fans watch? I doubt it.

- Starting this week, I will not work a Monday-Friday work week until the week starting Sept.17. Sadly, I keep most of my hours.

- I like Michael Smith as a guest host on Mike and Mike in the Morning. Anytime either Greenie or Golic is out, Michael Smith should be the automatic replacement. I like him way better than any of the other stand-ins (sorry Eric Wynalda, I liked you as a player, but not as a host) Plus they can still call it Mike and Mike.

- I'm getting behind in my reading. I'm still struggling through Umberto Eco(I can really only read 1 section a day, because I have to read the same section at least three times before I start to understand what he's written), and I've only read the first chapter of the first book on the pile of Clive Cussler's given to me by my Grandma. This weekend I'm going to take some time to sit down and read.

~Why do you work less day but the same amount of hours? That seems silly.

~3 season modes at once?!?! Normally I just choose one game and play a season and then move onto the other...but wow! By the way, how is your baseball season going?

~I did not see that Tiger's stat, but it makes me cringe. Do you think they'll start playing baseball again, or continue to just pretend?

~Beckham's looked good his last couple. Even I have been impressed.

~Disagree on Michael Smith. While I enjoy his thoughts on subjects, the manner in which he presents them frustrates me. He is not the best public speaker, and watching him and Doug Gotlieb stutter and lose their trains of thought constantly forced me to switch the channel (to ESPN). Best guest host would be Colin Cowherd (amazing), but since he has his own show right after, the second best would be Dana Jacobson. Girl has skills on the radio; Very opinionated and well spoken- and knows her stuff! I'd choose her.

When I work on the weekend, Katina usually gives me a day off during the week to keep the hours the same. The only hours that I don't make up (usually) are the days that I specifically request off.

I'm in the super difficult level, and I'm having trouble with the mariners' scenario where you have to hit 2 homeruns with your rookie.

I've never seen Cowherd or Jacobson fill in, so I can't really comment. I guess I should change that I like Michael Smith the best out of the replacements that I've seen.

I think you would like Cowherd. There's little fluff with his show. All meat and bones. He asks tough questions to his guests. He absolutely DESTROYED the Pac-10 commissioner...Colin brought up so many valid points about why the Pac-10 was so weak, and the commissioner kept stuttering and stalling because he didn't have an answer. Colin wasn't being an ass, he just asked honest questions. "Why is the Pac-10 so weak after USC?" The commissioner said there were plenty of good teams, like Cal. Colin laughed in his face, and said Cal blows (okay, that's being an ass, but since I was laughing at the commissioner's answer, I'm glad Colin did it for me). Then he brought up a shit load of stats and listed about 25 teams better than Cal. He says what we all think. And you being the arguer/debator you are, you would appreciate his well defended arguments.

Superhard difficulty level? Have you finished a complete season yet in any of the lower levels? What's the ending like if you have?

It's not the Pac-10 commissioner's fault that Cal sucks. It sounds to me like he put the commish in a no-win situation, and then reamed him for it.

I haven't even completed 50% of any season yet.

No no no...this commissioner is one of those archaic, dillusional, old men that isn't supposed to be in sports anymore.

Of course it's easy to rip Cal. But when the commissioner brings up Cal being viable (not Colin, the commissioner!), then Colin has every right to slam him for being fucking stupid.

That was just part of the interview. Colin asked the good questions, like why the Pac 10 doesn't do anything to get more exposure. He talked about all other conferences (including the MAC) working out deals with ESPN and the such, and how the Big Ten is having it's own network, while the Pac-10 does nothing. Those are good questions. What is the Pac-10 doing to become more relevant???

When the man doesn't have an answer, he looks like a fool on his own. Colin just cuts through the bullshit answers he tries to give and sugarcoat by arguing them with stats and facts.

The commissioner put himself in the no-win, not Colin. Colin asked the questions everybody wanted to know.

Maybe you wouldn't like Colin like I thought. I'm sure you can find an interview somewhere about how great USC is, and how the Pac-10 has some upcoming teams, like UCLA, Cal, and Oregon State. I just hate all the fluff.

Stacey and I currently are working on the "$20/month Wii Pass" from Hollywood video. We got it on Saturday and we've already rented 3 games. I like "The Bigs", but I would prefer an EA Sports game. I created Cameron Maybin in "Rookie Mode" since he is my new favorite rookie after the HR against the yankees. "Cameron Maybin's my Tiger!"

I like Michael Smith, although he could be better. I watched it this morning with the PGA Commish and he said "the only reason why they are adopting a drug policy is for public perception". Smith didn't call him out on it until after the commish was off air, but you could tell Smith was amazed he said that. I do like Jacobsen too... you have to have presence and confidence to be a female sports reporter and she really does. Plus, she's a Michigan girl. I usually change the channel if I see Kasilias... who the ef is he?

Zoom-zoom is coming back and Rodney's return will help. They just need some excitement in the pen.

If the commisioner was being a dumbass, then Cowherd has every right to call him on it. The other questions that were asked are legit questions for the commisioner, and if Cowherd ripped him for not having an answer, that may be something I want to watch.

I just had a different impression of the interview from your previous response.

Yeah, I didn't give a very good portrayal of the entire interview.

I like him a lot, and I think you would too.
