Tied 2-2. Sudden Death overtime. I stop the opponent's attack, and counter-attack. I use my shells at just the right time to setup my player for the game winning shot, when...stutter...wheeze..... ...... ..... fade to black ....... connection lost.
This scenario is far too common on the MSC servers these days. (On the occasions when one can even sign in) Nintendo NEEDS to get their servers in order. Now, I'm willing to grant a little slack. The game hasn't even been out a week, and this is the first online offering for the Wii. (Pokemon doesn't count. Shut it.) I know that there are always bugs to work out.
But for the sake of my neighbors, my blood pressure, and my sanity: Please Nintendo, fix the MSC servers ASAP!
Counter to everything I just said, maybe the massive overflow of connections to the MSC servers (100,000+ on the first day) will make Nintendo realize how much online play means to the gaming world. This could be a good thing. If Nintendo finally sees the demand is there, maybe this will encourage more games to include an online multiplayer.
On a related note, Super Smash Brothers Brawl must have online play. I will not buy this game without online play. Push back the release if necessary, I don't care. Without online, SSBB will be mediocre at best - with a good online multiplayer, it will be one of the best games Wii has to offer. I'm begging you Nintendo, include online in SSBB!
