I had very high expectations for this movie, maybe unfairly high. Jet Li and Jason Statham are my two favorite action stars, so it would seem that War was basically made for me.
And yet, I only give the movie a thumbs middle. Two out of four stars.
I'm not going to spoil anything, so I won't detail the flaws I saw in the movie. Only that it was slow in some parts, and I hated the ending.

Were the action scenes bad, or too far between?
I'm shocked with the thumbs middle.
There are a few cool parts, but the action scences were mediocre for the most part. I did not like the final fight scence where Statham and Li FINALLY face each other. It should have been the climatic, movie-defining scence, but to me it felt like an afterthought.
The thumbs middle feels like a thumbs down to me because I was expecting so much better.
