MLS Cup 2007

A re-match of last year's final, the New England Revolution and the Houston Dynamo played an excellent final.

Taylor Twellman must have read my last post, because he played much better in this game. He scored another spectacular goal, but he was also making smart decisions with and without the ball. However, the day belonged to the Houston Dynamo. With Ching injured, the Revs can neutralize Nate Jaqua, so Houston needed someone else to step up. Ngwenya scored a sloppy goal to tie it, but the man-of-the-match was Dwayne De Rosario. Twellman's header has good, but De Rosario's was amazing. What a fantastic finish. And thanks to an amazingly lucky save by Onstad in the final minutes, that goal held up to be the game winner.

It's interesting that with all of the major international talent grabbing the headlines, the best two teams are mostly American products. Blanco and Beckham can put more fans in the seats, but Ching and Twellman put points on the board. I want to see them both on the National Team this time around...

I totally want to see them as well.

Okay, I can't keep a straight face. I could honestly care less =).

I did see the highlights, and a couple of those goals looked damn sweet, especially Twellman. I've seen a shitload of his highlights, and the guy has some serious skills. Well, at least he's good at putting the ball in the net in cool fashions.
