Red Wings

I was going to write a post about the Zumaya injury, but Adam and Mike both beat me to the punch. So instead, I'll post about the Wings.

I finally get to watch the Red Wings! I was very happy to see that Wings games are now back on FSN. But the broadcast team was Ken Daniels and Larry Murphy. But what happened to Mickey Redmond?

All of our younger players are really starting to step up. I like that we finally have some youth on our team to balance out Chelios and Hasek. Speaking of younger players, Zetterberg is playing really well. I thought Datsyuk would be the future of the Wings offense when they were rookies , but Zetterberg is turning out to be the more consistent player. And Zetterberg is a great defensive player as well. If we can keep our nucleus of young players together, we should be set for a long time to come.

Glad to hear that hockey still matters somewhere. There is no mention of the Capitals down here, much less the sport.

So are you going to predict the Cup for the Wings this year? I mean an honest prediction. Not your "MSU to win it all" NCAA basketball bracket picks.

The Redwings have left me at "I don't give a shit until the playoffs" status. Actually, I think hockey in general has done that. I remember the hatred I used to have for the Avs - especially Claude Lemieux and Patrick Roy. I enjoyed watching Mario Lemieux and Yzerman still playing when their leadership outshined their scoring ability. I used to like Hasek and Osgood. I miss McCarty. Now, I just don't care as much about NHL.
