This movie delivers exactly what it promises. Death and racing. If you have ever played a video game with a similar premise, you will feel right at home in this movie. The race proceeds exactly like a video game, you even have to drive the car over power-ups.
Of course, they had to tack on a half-assed story full of plot holes, to make the movie worse. (i.e. make the movie longer for no good reason) Just once, I want a director to realize that movies like this do not require a backstory or character development. If you aren't going to do it well, don't do it at all!
All in all, it gets a thumbs middle. Good action, lots of death, stupid plot. 2 out of 4 stars.
