Epic Battle

A big wasp somehow got into my bedroom, and started flying around in my general direction. If it was lost and trying to go back out the window, I might have been lenient. But once it starts buzzing the tower, it's playing a very dangerous game. Dead wasp flying....

The problem is, what weapon to use? I didn't have newspaper, which would have been my first choice, so I tried a thick book. But it kept flying around and stopping by the light or in narrow areas, so I never even got a shot.

My second try was with a rubber devil stick. Fast and deadly, but I'm not very accurate with it. My blows missed, and just made the wasp angry.

Then, in a flash of inspiration, I remembered the hundreds of balls scattered throughout my apartment. My weapon of choice? The small orange basketball. It's perfect! All of the force, with none of the risk. I thought my first throw was right on, but it managed to fly off, so I must have missed. My second throw was thing of beauty though. I nailed that sucker from across the room, he never knew what hit him. He dropped like a stone....surely I have finally killed it.

But as went over to confirm the kill, I could see that he was still moving. Hit with 1 (or maybe two) basketball shots, it was wounded badly, but still alive. This wasp just would not die! But barely even able to crawl, the end was near. I finished the job with a paper towel.
