The Strangest Red Wings Post-Game Report Ever

What the fuck is wrong with the Red Wings?

I wish I could have watched them so I would know more specifically how bad they played so I could describe how bad they played to you guys who actually watched the game.

Don't ask me why. Don't ask me why.

The second period...I've never seen anything like that 5 minute stretch that Pittsburgh had against us.

The best way I can describe it was that it was like a Hitz game. Pittsburgh was Adam, you, and me...and Detroit was our fodder. Breakaways of all varietys, from 1 on none, 2 on 1, 4 on 2...you name it, they had it. And like the goalies in Hitz, there was nothing Osgood could do about it.

I think it comes down to our defense stepping up. They passed the puck to the Pens more than to our own guys. There just has to be more of an effort on the defensive end. It's ridiculous with the caliber of players we have that they can't stop a power play or keep guys reasonably in check. I understand Malkin and Crosby are great and will get their fair share of goals, but it's absurd the bullshit we're letting them have.

And at the same time, offensively some of the big guys have to step up more. We really need Hossa...we can't keep relying on our young guys to provide all the offense. Where would we be with out Abdlekader (I butchered the spelling probably) and Helm?

I want a new Wings team Saturday night...or it's over. Must win time.

I know this is the big question...are we just too tired?

I refuse to believe that we are too tired. I can't accept that as a legitimate reason for a loss during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

I know...but Pittsburgh has just looked so sharp these past two games...

Here's what is wrong with them - they can't score on the powerplay, yet they can't stop it either - and now they're giving up short-handed goals.

They aren't coming out with enough energy (besides Helm, who is ridiculous). They got all of the bounces in games 1 & 2 and now they're not. There were opportunities when they were facing down an open net, but whiffed on it. We finally saw that when the Penguins are locked in, they are unstoppable on offense.

In regards to Abdelkader, he was a healthy scratch to make room for Maltby, I believe.

Mike is right that Zetterberg, Hossa, and Franzen need to step up. I don't think they're too tired, but that will be the storyline if the Pens win - "youth and talent overcomes depth and experience"

My friend, Scott, by the way has noticed that everytime the Tigers win, the wings do too. The opposite is true as well. I'm not sure how far back it goes, but it's true for the Finals.
