and the whole rest of the world
we were there
for the dawn of the new millennium
Y2K came and went
in fear and hope
but nothing terrible or great happened
so none of us really knew what it all meant
but I guess that's okay

to see the sun rise again
on the thousands and thousands of other days
before and after
and I don't think we understood those
either
