I'm on Skype now too if anyone wants to video chat.

Hey I have a webcam, too! I always feel like I look ridiculous in it...although it's just a camera on me...I guess I just look ridiculous, period.

Thoughts on Skype? I had to use it for one of my grad classes, but haven't since then. I have yet to form an opinion about it.

I think Skype works really well. There's no lag on the calls, it's easy to setup and use (even my Grandpa can do it), and it's free for computer-to-computer calls.

I've had it for less than 24 hours, but from what I've seen I give it a thumbs up.

I feel like if I'm going to talk to you, I'm going to call you on the phone, and not via Skype.

Is its big advantages the webcam capabilities and the fact that it's free?

It seems like it'd be a great thing with parents/kids or grandparents/grandkids.

Haha, my Grandma is the one who wanted everyone to get Skype.

Yeah, those are the big advantages from what I can tell. Also that it makes it really easy to do group conversations.

I like the video for long conversations. But it seems like overkill for a quick conversation.

Oh you can do group chats? I never knew that!

See now I'm thinking about having it going during the fantasy football draft!

For the record, Skype doesn't do video for group calls, just audio.

What I meant by group conversations was that I could talk to my grandma, grandpa, and aunt at the same time since they were sharing a webcam.

Although for the fantasy draft, even just having audio only would still be better than a chat window.

Or how about for Yahoo euchre? Probably way better than texting.

Haha, yes!!!

We have to play that way!

I bet you we'd be the only ones ever to do that...

Haha, just like we were the first to play online as a team while we were in the same dorm room.

Yea, just like!

Hey, how come are winning percentage was no better when we were three feet from each other than when we were 600 miles apart?

Probably because we stopped cheating after the first few games, so there was no real advantage to being physically next to each other.

(And also that I suck at euchre and my game hasn't improved much since middle school.)
