- I can't think of a single reason not to overturn Joyce's call and give Gallaraga a perfect game. I'm not saying to open the floodgates on retroactive calls though. The only calls that should be overturned retroactively are egregiously bad calls that prolong a game that should have ended. (Winning run called out or winning out called safe) Those type of moments don't happen very often, and they get obviously called wrong even more rarely. This is the one situation where it's possible to make the right call after the fact. Give him the perfect game!
- The official song for the 2010 World Cup is Waka Waka by Shakira. It is terrible, avoid it if possible. The unofficial song for the 2010 World Cup is Waving Flag by K'naan. At first I thought it was terrible as well, but it's started to grow on me. As the WC gets closer, I'm liking it more and more.
- Speaking of the World Cup, my feeling is that the tournament won't be average this year. It will either be really great, or really terrible. I'm talking about the tournament as a whole, not just the US team. (Of course, the US team's results will probably be a big influence on my opinion about whether the tournament was great or terrible...)
- I'm glad Federer got bounced from the French Open. And I'll be rooting against Nadal in his next match. I like it when the favorites get upset. The only guy I want to see dominate every time is Tiger Woods.
- I'm calling the Lakers to win the NBA finals. I hate both teams though, so I can't say I'm "rooting" for one side of the other.
- I'm rooting for Philadelphia to win the Stanley Cup, but I think Chicago will win it. Well, I phrased that wrong. I'm rooting against Chicago to win the cup, but I think they will anyway. Yeah, that sounds better.

The only silver lining from this blown call is that baseball will now have instant replay. It's sad the incident had to happen to Galarraga and a Detroit Tiger, but in the long run instant replay will make baseball better. I'm with you though, overturn the call!
Um, I'm not expecting much from the US. Everyday I feel like I'm hearing some bad news about the US team. Altidore spraining his ankle? Eek. I'm curious to see if the Cup will hold my interest after the US is gone (I don't think they'll make it to the round of 16).
Fuck Tiger Woods. I hope he shoots +35 his next tournament. Federer, in defeat, was a class act. It's nice to see new guys win, but it's equally as nice to see the greats bow out gracefully. He represents the game well, and for that I respect him greatly. I will always be a fan of his.
I can't believe how into the Stanley Cup Finals I've been! I haven't missed a game! Just goes to show...playoff hockey is simply the best.
One former umpire argued that Instant Replay won't add any time to the game because it will just replace the time it takes for the upset manager to come out and argue the call (which isn't productive at all). I think I am fine with it being unofficial only if it gets recognized as an "unofficial perfect game" - the 28 out perfect game. I am worried, though, that after time, only Tigers fans will remember it.
I don't know why, but I always want Tiger to win. People have flipped on Tiger more than they did on the Patriots.
I have actually not watched the Stanley Cup as much as I would have liked. I flipped back and forth to Game 1, but that's it. I hope it goes 7. I am rooting for Chicago, though, because of Duncan Keith.
